There are very few building improvements that have as direct an impact on tenants as an elevator modernization.  In most cases the elevators are the first and last impression an occupant has of a building and because there is direct interaction between the two a passenger has an immediate opinion and sense of safety and comfort.

 

Our modernization process begins with a complete and thorough evaluation of the existing conditions and operation of the buildings elevator systems.  From this study we are able to develop detailed specifications of what components to replace, refurbish or retain as is in order to give the client the most cost effective, yet efficient and safe elevator modernization possible.  Along with this study we identify the related work components that must be updated in order to bring the surrounding building work up to current A17.1 code.  Our specifications are packaged as an RFP and put out to bid by our consultants who will obtain, review and scrutinize the proposals before entering into direct negotiation in order to deliver the best value to the client.

 

After award of contract our consultants manage the modernization process from shop drawing until completion with periodic review meetings and schedule evaluation during all critical milestones.  Upon completion of significant units and/or at the final completion of all the units a complete commissioning process takes place to ensure that all aspects of the contract specifications have been met and the operation of the elevator system meets the needs of the specific building.
